Last year we took our first trip to a nearby farm when Miss C was 4 days old to pick strawberries. My Mom 'jammed' all afternoon while I busied myself with two little ones.
This year, we were all excited to pick strawberries again. Especially since our freezer jam had run dry last month! We packed the kiddos and headed to the farm with our picnic lunch.
My Sweet Berry Pickers |
This year we told ourselves to pick less and still came home with 18 pounds of berries! The kids conked out for naps and my Mom, sister, and I got to it. Just a warning: all of the gorgeous berries means a LOT of gorgeous pictures (compliments of my sister, Kelly)!
Mom cut berries, my sister mashed, and then my sister and tag teamed boiling the pectin and did A LOT of stirring!
Still not enough jars! |
Aren't they lovely?! |
When all was said and done, we made 31 jars of amazing strawberry jam!
And...two pies.
Now for your free strawberry jam printable!
I printed my label design on sticker paper and punched them out using a 2" circle/scallop. These can also be fun as tags tied to the jar lid of your jam.

What a cute little blog!

Wow, so many jars of yummy deliciousness! I have made fridge jam recently but only made 'canned' jam once with my mother, a few years ago. I should try again after looking at yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the printable. Maybe if I have the labels I'll actually try to make the jam again!
I am saving this for canning season! I found your blog through a link party and LOVE it! I am your newest follower and would love it if you would check out my blog and follow me too! Thanks!

ReplyDeleteWe use the recipe on the Sure-Jell package (the Quick and Easy Freezer Jam). It uses 2 cups mashed berries/fruit, 4 cups of sugar, and 1 pkg Sure-Jell. A good friend gets the low sugar version of Sure-Jell. It makes more jam with less sugar. Hope this helps!
thanks
